Vote for Claxton and Target Will Give Back to our School!

This year, Target will give money to schools all over the country for one simple act: a vote. Our school needs just 25 votes to earn a $25 donation from Target. But that's only the beginning. For each additional vote, our school will get $1 more. So please remember that, although the gesture is small, the rewards are potentially huge.

Go to GiveWith.Target.com to vote for Claxton (enter Claxton) Elementary School once a week through September 21 or until Target has given away all $5 million.

And please forward this email to your friends.

Vote and see rules at GiveWith.Target.com!

We at Claxton are again participating in the wonderful Art to Remember fundraising program.  This is an opportunity for your child’s artwork to be printed on a variety of well made (and reasonably priced) keepsakes -- from mouse pads and paper weights to coffee mugs and potholders. You can view the catalog of what's available now, so you know just what to order when the time comes.

Each child brings home a “preview” magnet with your child’s artwork printed on it. If you wish to purchase the magnet you may do so. If not we ask that you please return it. You'll also get a letter explaining how the program works (including deadline dates) and a brochure featuring other items and prices.

These items make great holiday gifts!  And this fundraiser has always been wildly popular with parents.  Art to Remember is the single largest means of funding the art program at Claxton.  Your past support has been nothing short of amazing, and I look forward to another successful year.

For more information you may go to their website at www.arttoremember.com.  Thanks as always for all you do for Claxton!

Springing for Claxton -- Donate NOW!

SPRING FOR CLAXTON!
Make an online donation now!

Claxton Elementary School
2012 Spring Fundraiser

Dear Parents, Grandparents, Family and Friends!

First of all, thank you.  Thank you for your tireless support of your children at Claxton Elementary School.

Gone are the days of fully funded public school programs.  Each year the Claxton PTO raises money to help support teachers in the classrooms, pay for exciting additional programs and student activities, and buy new school equipment.  Our goal this year is to have 100% family participation to raise $15,000.

Because we value your time and continued efforts we want to make the fundraising simple.  This year, from the comfort of your own homes, you are cordially invited to…

SPRING FOR CLAXTON
February 9-March 9, 2012
RSVP PLEASE!

No babysitters, no admission cost, no selling various subscriptions, gift wrap or otherwise.  Just donate so that 100% of all monies raised goes to what really matters: the kids.

Your generous donations provide the resources to sustain the programs and opportunities we’ve come to know and appreciate at Claxton as well as help facilitate the margin of excellence that sets our school apart.  A few examples of where the money goes:

  • classroom supplies for all teachers
  • assemblies such as the storytelling festival and LEAF in Schools
  • class field trips and class projects
  • staff appreciation events and improvement of the grounds
  • the Claxton Directory, the Back to School Ice Cream Bash, 5th Grade Graduation
  • After School Arts
  • and much, much more…

We are asking ALL of our families to SPRING FOR CLAXTON.  If everyone gives to the best of their ability, we will more than exceed our goal.  For $5, a teacher can buy art supplies; for $25, an entire classroom can participate in a science experiment; and for a $100 gift, a teacher can add 20 new books to the classroom library.

SPRING FOR CLAXTON NOW!
Making an online donation has never been easier.  Just click the button below!

All donations are tax deductible.

Thank you!
Thank you for all you do to support your Claxton student and for your financial support that benefits EVERY Claxton student!

Enjoy some great pizza with fellow Claxton families!

Why?   Because they love us and we love them!

Barley's has been a long time supporter of Claxton, and a spirit night at Barley's is about as good as it gets!  Kids have fun. Parents have fun.  Low key dinner with no need to cook, and a portion of sales go to support the Claxton PTO.... It's a beautiful thing.

Time to eat some Doughnuts!

Starting Thursday February 2nd, 4th grade will have Krisy Kreme certificates for sale!

"What's a 'certificate'?" you ask.  "I've never heard of that kind doughnut!"

The certificate are a hot-and-fresh-when-you-want-them alternative to picking up a box of doughnuts at school.  Instead, you buy the certificate and you can swing in to pick them up next time your sweet tooth attacks.  Buy a handful -- take them to the office, take them to Grandma, take them to church on Sunday morning, take them along to the park or a party, use them to bribe your kids to clean their rooms!

Proceeds of the doughnuts sales will support the 4th grade field trip in May.

Don't forget the tree!

Congratulations to the fifth grade on a fantastic fundraising idea -- Christmas trees and wreaths!

Pre-ordered trees were delivered to school today and they look great -- big and healthy, just like a Christmas tree should be.  These are fresh cut Fraser Fir trees from Jasperwood Farm in Leicester.

If you ordered a tree, it must be picked up TODAY, so don't forget!

Adorable Little Bags!

The Claxton PTO is partnering with Roly Poly Crafts to bring you crazy fun reusable sandwich bags, snack bags and sandwich wraps!  We have the opportunity for our school to benefit from 30% of all sales of these adorable reusable bags by ROLY POLY.  You'll save money and keep all those plastic sandwich bags from going into the garbage day after day after day...
Take a look at the order form and think of the gift giving season that is quickly approaching.  They'd make a great stocking stuffer for friends, family, nieces and nephews! To see additional fabric selections go to http://www.etsy.com/shop/rolypolycuts.

You're welcome to print the order form and or look for a copy in Thursday folders this week.  We'll be accepting orders through Monday November 28th.  Checks should be made payable directly to Roly Poly Crafts, and should be returned to your classroom teacher marked "PTO". The bags will be delivered approximately 2 weeks later-just in time for the holidays!

Unsure which one is right for you?  We'll have samples outside of the Thanksgiving Lunch in the cafeteria on November 17th (you can also place orders there).

Support your school and spoil your friends. Buy these adorable ROLY POLY reusable bags!
